- Like a club on a Friday night, this day's Pick One Challenge was filled with singles. A select few made it home and for that earned the top scores.
- One person that unfortunately was left with nothing was Scott. Arizona's Ketel Marte ended his six-game hitting streak with a blank as his side defeated the Rockies.
- Matt finally saw his abysmal August run come to an end with a single from Albert Pujols as the Cardinals pushed a game and a half ahead of the Brewers in the NL Central.
- That single allowed Matt to stay ahead of Al who got a single from Miami's Joey Wendle. Wendle was pinch hit for by Marlins All-Star Garrett Cooper in the 8th inning before getting a potential fifth at-bat.
- Andrew Vaughn didn't need more than a single to jointly earn Lenny a total base point and knock in the only two runs for Chicago in their shutout win over Detroit.
- Boston and New York renewed their rivalry and we had a player from each side of the feud. Both Josh Donaldson (Buddy) and the deadline-acquired Tommy Pham (Ed), the fifth two-club man in the Challenge to date, singled in an eventual Boston victory. Pham's was the game winner.
- After a backup catcher named Austin let him down the day prior, Austin Wynns got Nate back on the scoreboard with a single for the Giants against the Pirates. Pavli also got a single from a Giant in the form of Wilmer Flores.
- Although he broke his streak with one Cardinal, Matt could have mimicked Ryan and got a home run from St. Louis slugger Paul Goldschmidt.
- But as we all know the home run is only one piece of the cycle bread puzzle which is why Josh Naylor's single allowed him to have the more balanced meal. Jumbled metaphors aside, Colin got five total bases from Cleveland's cleanup hitter to finish with the day's top score.
- There was a clown car driving in the optimal score lane for this day. Five players got to seven total bases in a variety of ways: San Diego's Brandon Drury, Los Angeles' Trayce Thompson, Minnesota's Gio Urshela (1 1B, 1 2B, 1 HR), Baltimore's Jorge Mateo (3 1B, 2 2B), Pittsburgh's Rodolfo Castro (1 3B, 1 HR).
