- This is gonna be a short one folks as the Mets went meekly into that cold night falling to the Padres at home to set up Division Series of Padres/Dodgers, Phillies/Braves, Guardians/Yankees, and Mariners/Astros.
- New York had just one hit on the evening against The Right Ear of the West Joe Musgrove (according to Buck Showalter) and that came from Pete Alonso. Only Colin had the ability to pick Alonso and didn't. He instead went with Francisco Lindor who along with Starling Marte (Al & Lenny) and Last Men In Tomas Nido (Nate) and Eduardo Escobar (Ryan) combined to go 0-for-12 with 5 K's (3 from Nido).
- Despite winning 6-0 and racking up 10 hits, the San Diego delegation didn't fare much better in the Challenge. Blanks were had for Jake Cronenworth (Buddy), Wil Myers (Ed & Pavli), and Ha-Seong Kim (Scott).
- In fact the only person to get on base via a hit at all was Matt's pick Juan Soto. The 21st two club man and the first picked out player of the postseason (22nd overall) hit two singles in the win with the second driving in the final two runs of the game.
- Optimally, only Colin could have went with Manny Machado and his three total bases. He drove in San Diego's fourth run with a fifth inning single before doubling in the seventh.
