- We had a first for 2022 in the Pick One Challenge as everybody tried to recover from the Bo-Bomb that was dropped the day prior.
- That first was having two players picked out in the same day. To add a bit of shine to it, both selections were in opposite dugouts of one another. Colin ended Bobby Witt Jr.'s maiden Pick One voyage for the Royals with an unceremonious blank. Matt only got a single from Cleveland's Jose Ramirez, but that was enough to knock in two runs and give the Guardians the win.
- Cincinnati was not only tripled up by the Cubs on the scoreboard, they were completely inept in the Pick One Challenge. Albert Almora Jr. (Pavli) and Donovan Solano (Ryan) could not lay a hand on Wade Miley or the debuting Hayden Wesneski going a combined 0-for-7.
- The NL Central wasn't a complete wash though. Yes, Milwaukee's Kolten Wong didn't get Scott a hit before being substituted but the rich did get richer as Buddy got a double from Keston Hiura in an extra innings loss to the Rockies.
- Los Angeles was home to two wins on the day, but vastly different results in the Challenge. Last Man In Cody Bellinger of the Dodgers blanked for Lenny to see his batting average dip below .200 for the season. Al on the other hand got a single and a double from the Angels' Taylor Ward who oddly enough would score his only run in the game as a ghost runner in the 10th inning.
- That leaves our joint top scorers, both with their second top scores of the season, Joey Meneses and Ian Happ. The Washington rookie doubled twice against the Cardinals to get Nate his portion of the seat on the daily throne. Ed earned his four total bases via a home run from Chicago's Ian Happ in that aforementioned drubbing of the Reds.
- Optimally, Max Muncy had himself an evening against the Giants. He went 3-for-4 with all of those hits going for extra bases. Muncy knocked in three with a double and two home runs to finish on the daily best of 10 total bases.
