- The prior day's rainout of the Cubs and Cardinals put a meaty doubleheader on the docket for this day. Eighty percent of our participants took a big bite of it.
- Three of them didn't enjoy their meal though. Both Ryan and Matt were let down by the lone Cubs selection, Ian Happ, while Pavli was unceremoniously blanked by handing a 2022 Pick One debut to St. Louis' Corey Dickerson.
- Our two outliers for the day both got on the board. Scott got a single from Oakland's Tony Kemp in an A's win over the Angels in which the losing side hit seven solo home runs. More on that in a bit. The other man who went against the twin bill grain was Nate who got a rare triple from the White Sox's Yoan Moncada.
- From here it is a couple of interwoven tales of double picks and double scores. Firstly, both Buddy and Ed went with Cardinals rookie Nolan Gorman. He only walked as a pinch hitter in Game 2 but his home run in Game 1 was more than enough of a solid return from the youngster.
- Six total bases was the haul for both Nolan Arenado and Paul Goldschmidt in St. Louis' sweep of their bitter rivals. Goldschmidt got his two non-homer total bases for Lenny via a pair of singles. Al got his scrag two bases from an Arenado double.
- But for the first time this year a player hit a home run with one person using the Home Run Hero chip and one person not. The person who did on this occasion was Colin putting himself in the daily pole position with a score of 10 via the HRH Bonus.
- Optimally, if the chip hadn't been activated the highest possible total would have been from Shohei Ohtani. The MVP candidate hit two of those aforementioned seven dingers and added a single in the latest installment of the "Tungsten Arm O'Doyle" saga in Anaheim.
