- Two teams on the day had three selections. One had all of their picks score, one was on a team that was nearly no-hit by the Tigers.
- We'll obviously start with the latter first. Baltimore was held without a hit through six innings before back-to-back singles in the seventh looked like a late rally could be in the cards. That was snuffed out by a double play and neither of those two singles, the Orioles' only two hits of the game, came from Jesus Aguilar (Pavli), Austin Hays (Buddy), or Adley Rutschman (Lenny).
- Al could not take advantage of the two men ahead of him blanking as he did the same with Seattle's Abraham Toro. He was the only hitless Mariners starter that didn't at least get on base via a walk in a win over the Angels.
- Bringing up the blank caboose was Ed with Randal Grichuk. The Rockies outfielder was a late scratch from the lineup but was locked in with a hitless at-bat in the ninth against the Giants after coming in as a defensive sub.
- Los Angeles put Arizona's magic number for elimination at 4 with a 5-2 win at Chavez Ravine. In that one the majority of the Dodgers' offense came from the bottom of the order. The lone hit from one of the first four hitters came from Nate's selection Trea Turner, a third inning single.
- The second of three All-Stars taken on the day was Scott's pick Garrett Cooper. The Miami DH made Scott wait for it, blanking all the way to the bottom of the eighth where he'd double off of Cubs reliever Rowan Wick.
- That aforementioned other team with three was the Los Angeles Angels. They only got eight hits against Seattle, but four of them were represented in the Pick One. One of those selections obviously came from Ryan with rookie Livan Soto singling. The other non-top scorer was Colin who broke a five day dry spell with a single from Luis Rengifo.
- But that top score came from the final Angel and the twelfth player picked out this season, Shohei Ohtani. The MVP candidate would single and double and scored his club's only run in defeat.
- Optimally we have to stay with that same game as Seattle's Carlos Santana and his two home runs were the best one could have done for the day. He drove in 5 of the Mariners' 9 runs in the game with his eight total bases.
