- Los Angeles has clinched the NL West but has now lost two straight to the Diamondbacks. In this latest defeat, both rungs of the Last Man In provision were used with zero results. Hanser Alberto (Nate) and Miguel Vargas (Matt) combined to go 0-for-6 against Madison Bumgarner and company.
- The Red Sox find themselves on the brink of playoff elimination after their loss to Cincinnati. However for Pick One purposes it was the exact opposite of the Dodgers with every Sox selection scoring. It may have just been a single each, but Rob Refsnyder helped Al and Pavli inch closer to the top and Alex Verdugo did the same for Scott.
- However, the winning team from that game had one of the day's other two blanks. Cincinnati's TJ Friedl was the only top of the order man to not get a hit which isn't what Lenny wanted to hear.
- Buddy didn't want to hear that he was the last blank of the day either. In the early game, the Nationals were able to hold off Atlanta to keep them a game behind the Mets for the division. Nevertheless, Luke Voit did not contribute to that cause going 0-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts.
- A California Adventure continued for Ryan with Oakland's Tony Kemp. With his Angels options exhausted (for now), Kemp stepped in to get a single in the A's win over the Mariners.
- Two touchdowns were scored by the Yankees against the Pirates on the evening. Colin's pick Josh Donaldson provided one of the extra points with an RBI double in the fifth inning.
- Our top scorer was our thirteenth picked out player of the year, Texas' Corey Seager. Ed got a single and a double from the Rangers All-Star against the Angels.
- Optimally, while all eyes were on whether Aaron Judge would hit his 61st home run of the season, Gleyber Torres hit his 22nd and 23rd of the campaign against Pittsburgh. He added an RBI single to his tally to end on nine total bases for the game.
