- The final day of the regular season came and went with little fanfare. Since probably the worst thing in the eyes of Rob Manfred is *gasp* more baseball, all the potential stakes in play for Game 162 were thrown out by way of tiebreakers the previous couple of days.
- There was one final doubleheader between the playoff-bound Blue Jays and the just-missing-out Orioles. Only four people went with a selection from it, two from each club.
- Each of Toronto's Whit Merrifield (Buddy) and Raimel Tapia (Ed) singled in Game 1 in the starting lineup. Only Tapia was able to replicate the feat in Game 2 off the bench.
- Baltimore is where we found our silver medalist for the day and one of the two blanks in the Challenge. Matt drew the short straw of the two with Cedric Mullins. He went 0-for-4 in Game 1 before not playing at all in Game 2. Lenny's pick Ryan Mountcastle also didn't play in the finale but hit three singles in the first contest.
- Milwaukee was the only other team to garner more than one selection on the day. Scott unfortunately drew our aforementioned second blank thanks to second baseman Luis Urias. Al had to wait until the ninth inning to get a single from rookie Garrett Mitchell.
- After over two weeks away from the sweet embrace of the Los Angeles Angels, Ryan was back in their arms on the season's final day with David Fletcher. He would single against the team Ryan has picked from for the majority of that interim period, the Athletics.
- A rain delay pushed the Mets into the Last Man In picture and gave Nate serial pinch runner Terrance Gore. The well-traveled speedster got his first hit of the season against the Nationals, a fifth inning single.
- Pavli finished up the regular season with Kansas City's Edward Olivares. After blanking in his 2022 debut on the first of this month, the Royals outfielder would single against the Guardians.
- But our final top scorer before the playoffs was Colin with Minnesota's Gary Sanchez. A double and a home run against the White Sox was good for six total bases and helped break a four day drought for Colin.
- Optimally, Boston's JD Martinez and San Francisco's David Villar each homered twice for eight total bases in their clubs' respective victories on the final day.
