- I guess some of our participants had a few screamin' mimis left over from the Fourth of July to use on the Fifth.
- However, there were a lot of duds in those packages as well as half the field blanked.
- Our only player to take down two unfortunate souls was Baltimore's Adley Rutschman. The "good" thing for the majority of the competitors though is that the two people the former #1 overall pick blanked for was our first and second place players at the time, Buddy and Matt.
- Baltimore's other selections fared much better with multiple hits going to each. Trey Mancini singled and doubled for Ed while Cedric Mullins added an extra double to Lenny's haul.
- The west coast was not the best coast on this day as both Western Division selections, Colorado's Charlie Blackmon (Al) and Seattle's Eugenio Suarez (Scott), both blanked.
- Completing the sad set was Ryan's selection Francisco Lindor. The Mets shortstop was one of four in the lineup to strike out multiple times against the Reds in a 1-0 shutout loss.
- A single a day keeps BLANK away is probably not Nate's personal motto but it is currently what his scoresheet looks like. Cavan Biggio pushed the streak of single singles to five days with his base knock against Oakland.
- Twice as long as Nate's singles streak is Colin's current hitting streak after Darick Hall's outing against the Nationals. The Phillies rookie's four total base day put him on ten straight days with a hit in the Challenge.
- But alas Hall wasn't the prime Phillie on the night because that honor belonged to Kyle Schwarber. For the second straight month Pavli unearthed a two homer Home Run Hero as Philadelphia's leadoff man went yard twice against Washington in an 11-0 win.
- Optimally, had the Home Run Hero chip not been in play, Minnesota's Alex Kirilloff would have been your best bet as he added a single to his two home runs for a tally of nine total bases versus the White Sox.
