- As per usual, with a doubleheader at hand over half of the participants followed. Three folks took the road less traveled with minimal results on the diverged path.
- Everybody's favorite Last Man In Austin Barnes earned his fifth assignment of the season, this time for Joseph. However, unlike the night prior, Barnes never got the ball out of the infield before being pinch hit for in the ninth inning.
- Tyler Stephenson also found himself pinch hit for in Cincinnati's loss to the Pirates but for a much different reason. Arguably the Reds best hitter thus far took a foul ball off the mask from Pittsburgh's Ke'Bryan Hayes which forced Scott's pick into concussion protocol and out of the game after just one hitless at-bat.
- The lone pick with a hit from outside of the doubleheader-sphere came from the man who needs every hit he can get. Ryan got a single from Aaron Judge that sees him eight total bases from emergence from last place.
- His closest target to overtake is Colin who along with Matt got a double from Los Angeles' Jared Walsh over the two game split with Oakland.
- Like with Walsh, the Angels' outfield rotations over the two games made it the more reasonable choice to go with an infielder that was nearly guaranteed to play both games. That's probably what drew Lenny to Luis Rengifo, but regrettably the second baseman only got a single in the first game before leaving after being plunked in Game 2 sans hits.
- It wasn't all Angels though getting in on the action. Oakland's joint-most selected player thus far, Sheldon Neuse, helped Al get back in the scoring column with a double in their Game 1 win and a single in their Game 2 loss.
- Nate's selection Ramon Laureano had his second multi-hit game since coming off the IL with a pair of doubles in Game 1 before being removed for maintenance in the Game 2 blowout with a blank scorecard.
- But in the end, it was third straight massive top score for Buddy, this time joined at the summit by Pavli, via Shohei Ohtani. Ohtani singled and doubled in Game 1 before hitting his 100th career home run in the nightcap for seven total bases. Speaking of 100, Buddy became the first person this season to pass the 100 total base barrier.
- Optimally, Jose Siri fell a double short of the cycle as Houston missed the extra point in their crushing loss to the Nationals.
