- If you picked somebody from the same team as somebody else on the day, you probably had a bad time.
- Matt and Scott had the lone dual selection for the evening with Seattle's Carlos Santana. The only melodies emanating from T-Mobile Park were those of a disappointing blank.
- Houston wasn't a better option unfortunately. Both Alex Bregman (Buddy) and Yordan Alvarez (Nate) floundered against Oakland's Adam Oller (8.07 ERA) with the latter failing to trigger the Home Run Hero bonus for the first time in 2022.
- The only team that saw a double-up with any positivity was the Marlins. Al may not have had a smile on his face after a blank from Jesus Aguilar but Lenny at least cracked a smirk with a single from Avisail Garcia.
- He may not have had a teammate being selected to commiserate with, but Ed's pick Hunter Renfroe also blanked in a Brewers' shutout loss to the Rockies.
- Alvarez wasn't the only person to fail in their mission to put one over the fence for bonus bases. Shohei Ohtani did get Colin a double in Los Angeles' loss to the Royals, but did not hit a home run per the requirements.
- Our top two scorers were former and current Royals players. The former is also the former in terms of his place in the sentence. Eric Hosmer got a pair of singles in San Diego's loss to Detroit moving Pavli within seven total bases of first place.
- But taking home top score and creating a three-way tie for the financial relegation spot was Ryan with Whit Merrifield. The only person to get an extra-base hit on the night (one single, one double) took home his first top score of the season after earning it twice last season.
- Jeimer Candelario was the optimal scorer from the highest scoring team of the day. Detroit put up twelve on San Diego and Candelario was responsible for three of them with a pair of home runs and a single netting nine total bases.
