- For the first time in Pick One history, every participant suckled on the teat of the doubleheader between the Royals and the White Sox. I know, another AL Central twin bill. Shocking.
- The split of picks between the two teams was even at five per side.
- Al had a rough go of it trying to find someone over the two games to his liking that was actually playing. He eventually settled on Chicago's Leury Garcia who would not record a hit in the split.
- Bobby Witt Jr. was one of two triplicate selections on the afternoon. Lenny, Matt, and Ryan all put their faith in the AL Rookie of the Year candidate and were met with zero rewards.
- Pavli also put his trust in a Royals rookie, MJ Melendez. He too was met with nothing but leadoff letdown going 0-for-both games as both a left fielder and as a catcher.
- Two bases were the hauls for both Andrew Vaughn (Buddy) and Salvador Perez (Ed). Vaughn got his from a Game 1 double while Perez had a single in each of the two contests.
- That left us with a three-way tie for first all backing Chicago's Eloy Jimenez. Colin, Nate, and Scott saw the White Sox phenom hit four singles between the two games against the Royals to bring his August batting average to just a shade under .500.
- Optimally, Kansas City scored six runs between the two games. Vinnie Pasquantino drove in half of them with a pair of home runs and a single, a haul of nine total bases.
