- Like the stage at your local strip club on a busy evening, there were singles everywhere on this day.
- There were several folks though that were left out of the action. Cincinnati's Jake Fraley (Ryan), Minnesota's Carlos Correa (Ed), and Los Angeles' Joey Gallo (Scott) each went 0-for-3 (with a walk) in their respective contests.
- Fraley was one of four selections from the "early" first pitch of the evening, Reds/Cardinals. The other two picks, St. Louis' Lars Nootbaar (Buddy & Nate) and Cincinnati's Jonathan India (Pavli), each had a single apiece as the Cards cruised to victory.
- Correa wasn't the only Twin taken either. Lenny's pick Jose Miranda scored twice despite singling just once in Minnesota's win over the Red Sox.
- Keeping pace with St. Louis was Milwaukee with their third straight win as well over the Pirates. Colin's selection Christian Yelich had a third inning single that was part of a three run inning for the Brew Crew.
- Our only doubler for the day was the debuting Corbin Carroll. Just called up from Triple-A, Arizona's top prospect drove in two runs with that aforementioned double to put the D'Backs in the lead over the Phillies after being down 7-0 in the 4th inning. Matt could have had one more base from the rookie had his first potential Major League hit not been ruled an error.
- But our top scorer of the day, and hoarder of singles, was Al's pick Trevor Story. Boston's window of Wild Card viability is all but shut, but Story kept Al moving forward in the Pick One standings with three singles in defeat to the Twins.
- Optimally, a lot of Pick One eyes were on the Cardinals/Reds game but just in the wrong place. 80% of our participants had the opportunity to select St. Louis' Tyler O'Neill who homered twice against the Reds for eight total bases.
