- The Yankees and Red Sox renewed their rivalry for the umpteenth time for the chance to face Tampa Bay in the ALDS.
- Picks were split 3 to 4 in favor of the club departing the postseason, the Yankees.
- While Rafael Devers reached base twice via a walk, he never did so with a base hit leaving Al and Trevor blanking to start their postseason.
- Ryan did better with his Sox selection as backup catcher Kevin Plawecki raked a second inning double off Gerrit Cole. The second inning would be the last inning Cole would complete.
- For the Yankees, Brett Gardner blanked for Colin striking out in all three of his plate appearances.
- Aaron Judge didn't strike out once, but only managed one single for Matt and Greg.
- That Judge single though was enough for Matt to maintain second position in the table as Pavli netted himself a six burger from Giancarlo Stanton. A pair of singles and a garbage time home run was far and away the top score, and the highest possible, of the AL Wild Card game. Too bad nobody else will get to enjoy Stanton's playoff prowess.
