- Opening Day proceedings finished up across the leagues with every team not getting their season underway the day prior were able to do so on this day.
- Two participants are still waiting to get off the mark for the season as both Colin and Nate blanked for the second straight day with Austin Hays and Luke Voit respectively.
- Our Opening Day game leader Matt joined them in the Hitless Hotel with the season's first Last Man In usage. The inaugural Last Man In for baseball was LA's David Fletcher who blanked as the Angels missed the extra point in their loss to the Astros.
- Al and Ryan opened their accounts with a pair of NL East players. Al got his single from the ageless Nelson Cruz against the Mets while Ryan earned his one total base from Philadelphia's Didi Gregorius versus Oakland in the requisite interleague matchup.
- Detroit completed an improbable comeback against one of the league's top relievers in part to two of the day's selections. Pavli's pick Austin Meadows tripled to set up the winning run before Scott's pick Javier Baez knocked him home (after an umpire review) with his second single of the afternoon.
- After blanking on Opening Day Pt. 1, Buddy's pick had the most total hits on Opening Day Pt. 2 as Eric Hosmer singled twice and doubled in their shutout win over Arizona.
- But Hosmer's three hits weren't enough to do what our joint top scorers of the day did in two. Joseph's pick Mitch Garver and Lenny's pick Brandon Belt each had themselves what we like to call cycle bread around these parts as they both singled and homered on the afternoon. It was a fortuitous pivot for Lenny as his original pick was part of the Cubs/Brewers rainout in Chicago.
- Optimally, Kyle Tucker would have been the pick as he hit two of Houston's six home runs against the putrid Angels pitching staff en route to an 8 total base evening.
