- It was a double-edged sword kind of day in the Pick One Challenge. While we had our second all hits day of the season, there just wasn't that many hits to go around among the participants.
- San Diego began their Manny Machado-less life with a win over the Diamondbacks. That one also saw Joseph and Matt get a single from Last Man In Ha-Seong Kim.
- The Marlins weren't able to get on the board against the Mets, but Nate's pick Jon Berti was able to get himself a single as one of Miami's seven hits on the afternoon.
- Ryan made it back-to-back Blue Jays with the selection of George Springer. Toronto couldn't upend Chicago but the leadoff man was able to help our current relegation candidate keep pace with a single.
- Our second of three multi-selected players on the day was Chicago's Jonathan Villar. Not many positives can be gleamed from a game where your side loses to a winless Pirates pitcher by a 12-1 scoreline, but at least Buddy and Pavli got a single out of it.
- And it just so happens that those Pirates were the providers of the top scorers of the day. Jack Suwinski was thrice selected by Al, Colin, and Scott. Those three men had combined in one combination or another for the past two top scores. Suwinski didn't hit three home runs again but instead the Challenge's lone extra-base hit, a double. That allowed that trio to tie with Lenny who got a pair of singles from Bryan Reynolds in the win. It feels like we are reaching the stage of not talking about it like an ongoing no-hitter, but if you've followed along thus far you know what I want to say here.
- Optimally, White Sox DH Andrew Vaughn made the most of a shortened schedule with eight total bases on a 4-for-4 evening (2 singles, 1 double, 1 home run) for the best possible score.
