- There was an equal mix of firsts, failures, and fructification (somebody scrolled through a thesaurus for alliteration purposes) in the Pick One Challenge on this day.
- It wasn't the first time, and it probably won't be the last, that the Last Man In came from the Angels. Joseph has been a regular user of the provision and saw himself tripped up at the final hurdle with a blank from Juan Lagares.
- Making this historical day a chase day as well was Buddy's pick Mark Canha. His first selection of his Pick One career as a member of the Mets came up empty against the Astros.
- After scoring with each of his previous five Phillies selections, Al received a blank from All-Star JT Realmuto which put his OPS at a satanic .666 for the season.
- Philly wasn't a complete washout. Despite their loss to the Rangers, Nate was able to stay perfect for the week with a single from Rhys Hoskins.
- Two doubles were hit in the Pick One for the day. One of those came paired with some other hits while Colin's pick Jarren Duran let his two-bagger stand alone.
- Ryan made it ten straight days with a hit, including four straight days of singles, after Max Muncy singled in a Dodgers win over the Reds.
- Joining the streaking was once again Lenny with Baltimore's Trey Mancini. He shared a meal of cycle bread with Scott's pick, Toronto's Alejandro Kirk, as both AL East sides were victorious.
- On most days, that cycle bread would be in a much better position than third place. However, it falls a bit short when somebody actually completes the cycle sandwich. Matt's pick Austin Hays became the first person in the Pick One to ever hit for the cycle, earning those ten total bases in just six innings against the Nationals. He singled and scored in the first, homered in the third, tripled in the fourth, before sewing up the sixth cycle in O's history with a sixth inning double prior to the game being called off due to rain. This would have been the optimal score had it not been for...
- Our second piece of history on the day came from Pavli who became the first person to hit on a Home Run Hero chip with a pair of home runs. Yordan Alvarez went yard in his first two at-bats against Mets starter Carlos Carrasco to push his total to a boosted 16, which ties for the best possible output (Marcus Semien's 16 doubleheader TB on 6/7) of the season. In the process Alvarez also became the first player to successfully trigger the Home Run Hero provision twice this season.
