- While the lead has been restored to a single player state, below has once again found itself with a new set of deadlock circumstances.
- Colin pulled himself out of last with a point from the Yankees' Luke Voit. It was his fifth straight day with a score and brings him level with Ryan who blanked on the afternoon.
- A little bit higher up on the card saw Trevor move up from fourth to a tie for second with the second-best score of the day from San Diego's Austin Nola. A single and a double from the Padres catcher put him in lockstep with Al who only got the former of those two hits from Cleveland's Myles Straw.
- Both are now firmly looking up once again at Matt who got the top score of the day. Rafael Ortega's second top score of the season came in the form of a near-final blow for AL ERA leader Lance Lynn. Ortega's grand slam wasn't the final pitch Lynn threw but all but sealed that the fifth would be his final frame.
