- It was a light day score-wise in the Challenge, but enough was done to have a tie at the top once again.
- Lightning did not strike twice for Houston's Chas McCormick. A day after earning top score honors, the Astros center fielder would blank for Nate in Game 2.
- Nothing good came from New York's Oswald(o)s in Game 2. Lenny blanked with the recently re-rostered Oswald Peraza. Matt's nightmare postseason trudged on with a blank from Oswaldo Cabrera pushing his run of zeroes to eight days.
- Ryan could not get a second postseason hit from Aledmys Diaz. The Houston utility man has just one hit in five appearances across the two series he's played in.
- After a one day respite of seeing a zero in the hit column, Al was sadly back at it again with Yankees first baseman Anthony Rizzo. He would drive in one of New York's two runs in the loss with a groundout, but never got a hit.
- Our lone double selection for the day was the 2022 debut of Kyle Higashioka. The Yankees on again, off again catcher kept Buddy and Ed off the board by striking out in all three of his plate appearances before being pinch hit for in the ninth by Matt Carpenter, who would strike out.
- A pair of Yankees would tie for the day's silver medal. Gleyber Torres (Colin) and Harrison Bader (Scott) would each single against the Astros with the former's effort driving in their team's second and ultimately final run of the night.
- But working his way back into that aforementioned tie for first place was Pavli with two singles from Houston's Yulieski Gurriel. The ageless Cuban slugger is now hitting .409 in the postseason after his 2-for-3 outing in Game 2.
- Optimally, four people could have had a helping of cycle bread had they selected Houston's Alex Bregman. He homered to drive in all three Astros runs in the third before singling in the eighth.
