- We were supposed to have a doubleheader on the day between the Nationals and Phillies. It drew in 70% of our selections. However, the remnants of Hurricane Ian and Washington's unwillingness to do a single ticket twin bill left those folks without a second game.
- Pavli and Lenny were really hoping for that second game as well as their pair of Nationals, Luke Voit and Lane Thomas respectively, blanked on an 0-for-6 with a walk apiece.
- The lone National to get hit(s) was Matt's pick Joey Meneses. The ever-reliable rookie hit a single and a double yet his side came up short 5-1.
- Brandon Marsh helped Buddy take advantage of that blank to build his lead back up to eight total bases. The 18th Two Club Man of the 2022 season hit a single and a double of his own in the Phillies win.
- Two Philadelphia players made their final bows for the 2022 Challenge, Rhys Hoskins and Bryce Harper. Harper only netted Scott a single against Erick Fedde and the Nats and was unable to take home his record-breaking sixth top score of the season. Hoskins added a home run to his single to give Colin and Ed the day's silver medal via cycle bread.
- Our three outliers were either boom or bust. Representing the bust side of things was Baltimore's Anthony Santander (Al) and Oakland's Dermis Garcia (Ryan). Garcia was doubly disappointing as the final Home Run Hero of September.
- But that boom was San Francisco's Evan Longoria. Nate's bad timing turned out to be a blessing as his inability to get someone in for the early doubleheader-that-wasn't led him down the late game path and the Giants third baseman. His two home runs against Arizona for eight total bases was also good enough for the day's optimal haul as well.
