- With an abbreviated schedule for the day, many of our participants were left grasping at straws. Unfortunately a large number of our players grabbed low end paper straws that become mush the second they touch liquid.
- Seattle had eight players, including pinch hitters, that didn't register a hit against Jameson Taillon and the Yankees. One of that octet was Matt's selection Jesse Winker who struck out twice before being pinch hit for by Jake Lamb.
- Yadiel Hernandez could not help either the Nationals move closer to 40 wins or Colin closer to the middle of the pack. To add insult to injury, after being pulled for a pinch hitter with a hitless day, his substitute hit a two-run home run.
- There was only one run between the Angels and the A's but in the Pick One there were no hits as both Los Angeles' Jo Adell (Nate) and Oakland's Sean Murphy (Lenny) blanked.
- Al had to have been worried looking at the Pirates/Diamondbacks boxscore and seeing just three hits on the Pittsburgh side. Nevertheless he could breathe a small sigh of relief as one of those three was a single from his pick Bryan Reynolds.
- The same haul was what Jeff McNeil got Ryan in the Mets' 5-1 win over the Reds. Only Matt has the Mets All-Star left at his disposal.
- Our third two-club man of the season is also a Met. Scott's pick Dan Vogelbach got an early single to get on the board but then hit a late chugging double to put him on three total bases and earn the daily silver medal...so to speak.
- That is because there was a carb-loaded three-way tie for first place between three players who all had themselves a late-night cycle bread snack. New York's Starling Marte (Ed) and a pair of Orioles, Ryan Mountcastle (Buddy) and Anthony Santander (Pavli), hit a single and a home run to finish on five total bases.
- Optimally, Josh Donaldson had four hits in New York's thirteen knock barrage against the Mariners. He fell a triple shy of the cycle with a double-up on doubles putting him on nine total bases in the victory.
