- There were three distinct camps on this day: Astros backers, Rockies backers, and Cardinals panickers. That took care of nine of our ten players.
- The tenth just so happened to be our current game leader Buddy. He took a man on a team that got no-hit but was still able to be victorious in Pittsburgh's Ben Gamel.
- He was one of two blanks on the day, a great sign for everybody else except Scott. Alex Bregman has a pretty putrid Pick One record. Over two seasons, he has blanked six of the ten times he's been selected including his 0-for-3 in Houston's 8-0 win over the Nationals.
- Michael Brantley's one hit in that contest took a harsh carom off of Alcides Escobar's glove at short, but Al will surely take it nonetheless.
- Nate did the best of the bunch with the defending American League champions as Yulieski Gurriel paced the club with three hits including his second home run of the season.
- Eight of Colorado's nine hits against the Royals were singles with one apiece coming from Connor Joe (Lenny) and CJ Cron (Pavli) in a crushing late defeat.
- Two men (Joseph & Ryan) needed the assistance of the Last Man In Edmundo Sosa. He singled twice in St. Louis' 15 run onslaught against the Giants which also matched the production of Matt's pick Juan Yepez.
- But our top scorer, and joint optimal scorer of the day, was Colin's pick Paul Goldschmidt. He teed off on Giants ace Carlos Rodon tagging him for a pair of doubles and a home run before being yanked after just 3 2/3 innings pitched. It is a shame that Goldschmidt himself would later be substituted in the blowout keeping him at eight total bases in the end.
- That tally of eight total bases was matched by a pair of Rangers teammates, Kole Calhoun and Adolis Garcia. Each man went yard twice, including going back-to-back in the sixth inning, off Red Sox pitching in a 7-1 win.
