- Back-to-back Last Man In assignments have not gone well for Ryan as this time it was San Francisco's Jason Vosler putting up the wrong kind of zeroes. It should be noted as well that Vosler was the second step option of the provision with Ryan having already had Joey Bart in his selection pool earlier in the month.
- It wasn't just bad times at the bottom of the table as overall leader Matt also blanked with Baltimore's Ryan Mountcastle.
- There were two teams that had multiple players taken from them on the day, San Diego (2) and Kansas City (3). Representing the bad side of these team runs were blanks from Kansas City's Salvador Perez (Scott) and Michael A. Taylor (Colin) as well as San Diego's Austin Nola (Nate).
- Representing the good side was a two single day from Andrew Benintendi (Joseph) and some cycle bread for Eric Hosmer (Al).
- Also dining on some of that cycle bread carbohydrate goodness (I'm never using the second part again but I committed this once) was Pavli who moved onto the overall medal stand with five total bases from George Springer.
- But our joint top scorers came in to tie the top score for the season the hard way. Also the optimal scorer, Anthony Rizzo hit three home runs against Baltimore to net the pair of Buddy and Lenny 12 total bases apiece. It puts Buddy back in second place overall and was a much-needed slump buster for Lenny who jumps from ninth to sixth in one fell swoop.
