- Major League Baseball ran out their Field of Dreams game on the evening. However in the Pick One Challenge it was quite the nightmarish day as 70% of our participants, including four of the five who went with somebody from the gimmick in Iowa, blanked.
- The woes continued for Matt as Cincinnati's Nick Senzel struck out twice as part of a hapless evening at the dish to run his hitless streak to eight days.
- After getting a home run from the Last Man In the day prior, Nate could not replicate the magic in the Iowa cornfields as Reds catcher Austin Romine went 0-for-2 before being pinch hit for in the seventh inning.
- Although it didn't increase on the evening, Ryan was not able to cut into the financial relegation gap he is currently facing. It still sits at 10 total bases after Chicago's Willson Contreras blanked against the Reds.
- Two men saw their selection's day come to a premature end as injuries put both Cincinnati's Jonathan India (Al) and Philadelphia's Kyle Schwarber (Ed) in the locker room early with no hits. Making matters worse was that Schwarber was Ed's Home Run Hero designee for the month of August.
- Joining Schwarber as blankers outside of our evening's final game were Houston's Jose Altuve (Scott) and Detroit's Riley Greene (Pavli). Altuve was one of only two 'Stros to go hitless in putting up a touchdown on the Rangers. Greene never got the ball out of the infield and struck out three times in Detroit's extra innings loss to the Guardians.
- Colin got the only Pick One hit from the Field of Dreams game. A single from Chicago's Nico Hoerner would drive in the game's second run in the first inning before immediately being driven home for the game's third run.
- Taking advantage of the misfortunes of his direct competition was Buddy with Boston's Xander Bogaerts. In the penultimate game of the night the All-Star had a single and a double as the Red Sox edged out the Orioles.
- But our top scorer of the day was Lenny via Cleveland's Steven Kwan. While Matt couldn't put the brakes on his blank train, Lenny derailed his with a home run from the Guardians leadoff man for the daily best of 4 total bases.
- Optimally, not many eyes were on the Diamondbacks/Pirates game on the night but that is where you would have found Emmanuel Rivera. The deadline-acquired D'Backs third baseman hit two doubles and a home run (8 total bases) as his side tripled up Pittsburgh 9-3.
