- Home runs were in extensive supply in the Bronx with every ball leaving the yard off a Yankees bat earning points in the Pick One.
- It wasn't all rosy in that one though as there were a couple of blanks to be had as well. Feeling like I talked during a no-hitter, Lenny's post-All Star Break run came to an end with Isiah Kiner-Falefa failing to get one of New York's eight hits against Kansas City.
- Salvador Perez was the lone representative from the Kansas City side of that one. The four time Silver Slugger couldn't make anything happen either in defeat, netting Ryan a blank that he could ill afford.
- Really driving home the point that I probably should leave streak talk on the cutting room floor was the fact that Colin's run came to an end as well. Jesus Aguilar and the Marlins got shut out by the Mets and he personally was shut out in the scorebook.
- Ed joined Ryan in that ominous three-way tie for last place after Houston's Jeremy Pena blanked, striking out twice, in his side's defeat to the Mariners.
- The two of them are in that deadlock with Nate after he got a single from habitual Last Man In Andrew Velazquez in the Angels' comeback win over the Rangers.
- Chicago had a late rally of their own to beat the A's. While AJ Pollock's single didn't factor into any of the three late runs being scored, he helped Al keep pace in the Challenge.
- Joining the ever-growing list of players one selection away from picking out was Josh Bell. The Washington slugger went yard in a rare win for the club against St. Louis, earning Pavli four big total bases as he pushes forth.
- We finally round back to the lead with all three of the day's top scores coming from the New York Yankees. Scott "only" got a home run from Matt Carpenter while Buddy saw DJ LeMahieu add a pair of singles to his leadoff blast. But taking home the top honors was the final Home Run Hero of July, Aaron Judge. His single and league-leading 42nd home run (with the bonus) gave Matt a score of nine on the month's penultimate day.
- Optimally, one could have also gotten a score of nine naturally with Atlanta's William Contreras. The younger of the Contreras siblings parked two and added a single in the Braves' win over the Diamondbacks.
