- Houston pushed Philadelphia to the brink with a 3-2 win in Game 5 to go up 3-2 in the World Series.
- For the second straight game, Buddy took a strategic BLANK as his selection Mauricio Dubon did not feature in any capacity during the Astros victory.
- Al and Scott's blanks were less strategy and more playing out the string with zeroes respectively from Houston's Chas McCormick, one of two players picked out for the night, and Philadelphia's Bryson Stott.
- Houston's David Hensley has only seen Pick One action in the World Series and each time he's earned his backer one total base. In Game 5 that man was game leader Pavli whose advantage going into the possible final game is eight total bases.
- Martin Maldonado got to ride the Houston catching carousel for this evening. He made Ed wait, but eventually smacked single in the ninth inning.
- Our other picked out player for the evening was Lenny's pick Alex Bregman. He would double in the win giving him hits in all but one game in the World Series. Bregman also became the ninth player to be picked out in both the 2021 and 2022 iterations of the MLB Pick One Challenge.
- We had two double selected players in Game 5 with the first being Houston's Yulieski Gurriel. He too would double which netted Colin and Matt two total bases apiece. Only Scott has the Cuban remaining to select.
- But our other double selection also doubled as the day's top and optimal scorer. Houston rookie Jeremy Pena had a game-high three hits, two singles and a home run. That was great and all but didn't provide any separation between his two backers, the table's bottom two Nate and Ryan.
