- It is apropos that on a weekend of get-togethers everybody selected in the Challenge had somebody watching the same game(s) with them.
- We nearly had an all hits day had Joseph's Last Man In assignee Brian Serven not blanked against the D'Backs. Matt made sure the Rockies weren't shut out though as his selection Connor Joe brought the day's lone triple to the barbeque.
- Pittsburgh beat Milwaukee both in actuality and in the Pick One Challenge as Colin's selection Oneil Cruz (one home run) doubled up Al's pick Andrew McCutchen (two singles) on the scoresheet.
- Los Angeles' selection pool was a Tale of Two Turners against San Diego. Both Trea and Justin got hits for Pavli and Ryan respectively, but Justin Turner added a first inning home run (one of three from the Dodgers in that frame) off of Yu Darvish to take a share of the daily top score.
- There were two doubleheaders in play for the afternoon yet only one saw usage: New York/Cleveland. Each player selected got their production from one game with either the second being a DNP or a flat out blank.
- Buddy was the lone Guardians backer with Andres Gimenez. He doubled in the Game 1 loss before sitting out the Game 2 sweep confirmer.
- For the Yankees, Nate's pick Joey Gallo sat out Game 1 before singling in Game 2. Aaron Judge did not bring home run heroics to Scott, but did at least get him on the board with a double in Game 1. Lenny's selection DJ LeMahieu did homer as part of cycle bread to represent the East Coast top score-wise.
- Optimally, if folks had looked to the other doubleheader they would have found themselves Tampa Bay's Isaac Paredes and his 11 total bases in a sweep over the Blue Jays. Paredes covered the infield over the two games, homering as a first baseman in Game 1 before falling a triple short of the cycle splitting time between second and third in Game 2.
