- There were two doubleheaders in play yet we had just four takers between them.
- To be fair to Al and Nate, once their original selection Trevor Story was not in the lineup for Game 1 of their twin bill with the Orioles, both men pivoted to later games. Each choice proved fruitful as Al's new pick Andrelton Simmons singled and Nate's second selection Joc Pederson doubled.
- Similar tales of joy could not be told by our Brewers backers, Lenny and Ryan. They both blanked with Mike Brosseau and Andrew McCutchen with the latter ending the month of May's Home Run Hero selections with a whimper.
- Our Last Man In enthusiasts, Colin and Joseph, each got themselves a double from Seattle's four-time LMI'er Cal Raleigh in his club's shutout win over the division-leading Astros.
- Rounding out the pairs section of the post is JD Martinez. Baseball's leading hitter got a single over the doubleheader for the duo of Pavli and Scott.
- Just kidding because now we need to talk about a pair of daily and overall top scorers. Buddy may be in the overall lead, but he was just the silver medalist on this day as Rafael Devers raked four hits in Game 1 (3 singles, 1 double) before going radio silent in Game 2.
- On the other hand, our day's top scorer Matt got nothing but doubles over two games from Washington's Maikel Franco. The Nationals third baseman hit three in total to earn our current second place player six vital total bases.
- Optimally, St. Louis rookie Nolan Gorman hit his first career MLB home run as part of a four-hit, eight-total base day against Milwaukee.
