- Major League Baseball's Trade Deadline proved to be one for the ages. All the while, we had one hell of a day in the Pick One Challenge as well.
- The scrap at the bottom of the table didn't see any change as all three men netted just one total base from their selections. Ed, Nate, and Ryan all ventured outside the doubleheader confines and went with Toronto's George Springer, Texas' Corey Seager, and Minnesota's Luis Arraez respectively. When Springer was a late scratch from the Blue Jays lineup, Ed instead was assigned Last Man In Dixon Machado from the Giants.
- Colin was able to put a much needed buffer between himself and that trio with a pick outside of the San Diego/Colorado twin bill. Oakland's Elvis Andrus had three hits against the Angels with one of them being a double to put him on four total bases.
- Our most successful doubleheader outlier was our current game leader Buddy with Milwaukee's Willy Adames. Although the Brewers fell to the Pirates, Adames had 40% of his club's extra base hits (1 double, 1 home run) for six total bases in all.
- Dixon wasn't the only Machado taken on the day. Unfortunately for Lenny, Manny Machado somehow found a way to do worse than his lesser known counterpart by blanking over two games against Colorado, striking out three times in six at-bats with two walks.
- Colorado's Brendan Rodgers hasn't been as valuable in the Pick One this year as he was last year, but he came good for Pavli in the doubleheader. He allowed our current silver medalist to keep exact pace in the race for the top with a pair of singles and a home run over the two-game sweep by the Padres.
- But our top scorer is a man that won't be too worried about the bevy of players coming into San Diego. Jurickson Profar's versatility wasn't necessarily on display against the Rockies, but his bat was netting the throuple of Al, Matt, and Scott nine total bases with five singles and two doubles in two wins. That haul tied him with teammate Trent Grisham for the optimal score of the day as well.
