- History was made on the night but there were no seismic shifts in the Pick One Challenge.
- Rob Refsnyder has been the flavor of the week for the Red Sox, garnering four Pick One selections in the past week. But that flavor was a bit off for Colin as Refsnyder blanked for the first time in his Pick One career in Boston's loss to the Yankees.
- Ed was committed to making a pick from Giants/Diamondbacks yet neither the man he originally backed, Arizona's Daulton Varsho who didn't start, nor the man he pivoted to, San Francisco's Wilmer Flores, got a hit.
- The final Wild Card in the NL is more than likely going to come down to either the Padres or the Brewers. Their results on the evening were reflected appropriately in the Pick One Challenge. Al's pick Kolten Wong followed up his three home run game with two singles as the Brewers beat the Reds. Scott's Home Run Hero for September Jake Cronenworth did not afford him the same courtesy as he blanked in the Padres' loss to the Rockies.
- Although the game will be remembered for something that will be talked about shortly, the Dodgers in the Pick One for the night all got one single and one error. Max Muncy did so for Matt and Nate. Lenny also got an inning of pitching from Last Man In Hanser Alberto in the 11-0 defeat.
- Washington's Joey Meneses hit his 12th double in his half-season in the Majors to put our leader Buddy on 360 (no scope) total bases going into the penultimate weekend of the season.
- But for the fourth time in five days, a single and a double was enough to take home the top score. Both Miami's Garrett Cooper (Pavli) and Oakland's Sean Murphy (Ryan) got to that total.
- Optimally, Albert Pujols earned eight total bases in the late game win over the Dodgers. Those came via two home runs which put him into the vaunted 700 Home Run Club joining Barry Bonds, Hank Aaron, and Babe Ruth. Oh yeah, the Angels' Taylor Ward homered twice as well.
