- Even though they won on the field, there would be no bouncing in the club for the Marlins in the Pick One Challenge. In their 4-1 win over the Nationals, Lewin Diaz blanked for Buddy to make it a chase day while Charles Leblanc became Charles Leblank for Scott.
- Two second club men in New York were selected on the day, one each for the Mets and Yankees. Lenny's selection Harrison Bader was one of two Yankee starters (the other being the history-chasing Aaron Judge) to blank against the Red Sox. Colin's pick Darin Ruf got just his third hit of September, a single, in the Mets' loss to the Athletics.
- Another pair of players came off the board from that New York/Oakland contest. Nate handed highly-touted Mets prospect Mark Vientos his Pick One debut and was handed back a home run. Ryan continued the northern part of his California sojourn with two singles from Vimael Machin.
- Manny Machado helped put San Diego a half game ahead of Philadelphia in the NL Wild Card standings in a win over the Rockies. Matt's pick got a single and a double and drove in two runs. Only Colin has the Padres All-Star remaining at their disposal.
- Al and Pavli were in lockstep of their pursuit of Buddy with Boston's Reese McGuire. The Red Sox catcher homered in a losing effort against the Yankees. Those four total bases now puts Pavli within 6 of the top spot in the overall table.
- But our top scorer for the fifth time in the past week was Ed with Cleveland's Oscar Gonzalez. The Guardians rookie hit two solo home runs in his club's 4-2 win over the Rangers to finish on eight total bases.
- Optimally, Hunter Renfroe added two singles to his two home runs for ten total bases as the Brewers routed the Reds on the road.
