- The hitting streaks continued for both Al and Colin on the day as the both got some Bay Area production to bring their runs to eight games.
- Colin used a man who let three people down the day prior in Steven Duggar and despite striking out three times in this one did deliver a seventh inning RBI double to bring home San Francisco's lone run of the game and keep the streak alive.
- But Al took his streak continuation up just that next little notch. Matt Chapman wasn't able to bring Oakland all the way back against Texas, but he did hit a home run to keep building up his advantage over Matt who was only able to earn three points from JD Martinez against the Royals.
- On the other end of the spectrum, the Pirates were nearly no-hit by the Rockies of all teams. Pavli probably wishes he went with somebody other than Bryan Reynolds given this fact, but at least he has the silver lining that the outfielder was given the day off and can be potentially used on a day where his lineup mates don't make German Marquez look like the second coming of Juan Marichal.
