- We fell one hurdle shy of an all hits day, but there was still plenty to applaud around the Challenge.
- There was a couple of late scrambles for the Milwaukee/San Francisco game. Ed came up on the wrong end of things with the Giants' Mike Yastrzemski blanking in his side's defeat. Conversely, Matt and Nate each got a pair of singles from their Brewers' charges, Rowdy Tellez and Andrew McCutchen, respectively.
- Our early starters both got on the board. Miami's Miguel Rojas had been pivoted away from twice prior but on this day earned Scott a single. After blanking the day prior, Washington's Yadiel Hernandez got Pavli a single as well.
- Al was originally going to make the early birds a trio but after his original selection was not in the starting nine he moved on to Toronto's Alejandro Kirk. It proved a serendipitous change of plans as Kirk singled and doubled for the Blue Jays in a loss to the Royals.
- Marcus Semien's Rangers also fell short in their quest to end Seattle's winning streak, but the $175 million dollar man was at least able to net Buddy three total bases as well with a three-pack of singles.
- After an innocuous seven innings, shit got wild in the Bronx from the eighth inning on between the Yankees and Reds. Ryan's pick Jonathan India led the game off with a single, but it was his second base knock in the eighth that started a three run rally (that was answered immediately by the Yankees) that proceeded an equally nutty tenth.
- But our top two scores of the day both came from Cleveland. The Guardians hit two home runs in their shutout win over the Tigers. Lenny's pick Josh Naylor hit one and Colin's pick Andres Gimenez hit the other. Putting Gimenez over the top in terms of top score was the All-Star's RBI double to put him on six total bases for the afternoon.
- Optimally, either New York's Brandon Nimmo or Chicago's Luis Robert would have snagged you seven total bases in decisive victories. Both men fell a triple short of the cycle to earn their totals.
