- There were some early fireworks ahead of the Fourth of July weekend as half of the field's selections hit at least one home run.
- Not only were there a ton of long balls, we nearly had our second all hits day in three days had Joseph not found himself without a selection from the night's Last Man In squad, the Seattle Mariners.
- The Mariner that did ended up being assigned via that provision, Dylan Moore, hit one of those multitude of home runs for Matt in Seattle's win over Oakland.
- Our most selected team of the day did not have a single home run but still didn't let down a single one of their backers. Tyrone Taylor got a single for Al while Omar Narvaez and Willy Adames got doubles for Lenny and Pavli respectively.
- On a day of home runs, it was weird to see Ryan's pick Giancarlo Stanton not part of the proceedings. But at least his pair of singles kept Ryan's three-day streak of two total base games intact.
- June is a month that Nate has to be happy to see go, but at least he ended with a flourish. With his first home run from a selection since June 3rd, Isaac Paredes accounted for all of Tampa Bay's offense against Toronto with his fourth inning shot off Yusei Kikuchi.
- Scott was on his way to a frustrating end to the month with Andres Gimenez. The Guardians second baseman struck out, meekly grounded into a force out, and reached on an error before stepping up against Minnesota's Tyler Thornburg in the ninth inning. One walk-off home run later, all ills were cured.
- Chicago and Cincinnati was the track meet of the afternoon as they played to a football score of 15-7. So it is not surprising to see the top two scorers of the day come from this game with Buddy taking the daily silver medal via Reds outfielder Tommy Pham. He singled twice and hit a consolation three-run home run in the ninth inning to take home six total bases for his efforts.
- But our top scorer of the day was Colin with Chicago's Patrick Wisdom. The Cubs hit four home runs off Reds "pitching" on the afternoon. I put pitching in quotes because the two non-Wisdom home runs came off a position player pitching in the ninth. Wisdom added a single to his two dingers which tied Colin's personal best for the season of nine total bases.
- Optimally, Pittsburgh had its third different player hit three home runs in a game in June. This time it was Michael Perez leaving PNC Park thrice however unlike the previous two men who did the deed (Bryan Reynolds and Jack Suwinski), the Pirates catcher added a single to finish with 13 total bases.
