- The battle at the bottom of the table grew tenser while the one at the top went in the opposite way thanks to the same selection.
- For the second straight day a player went against the Evil Pick One Empire that is the New York Yankees with a Royals selection. Just like Ryan did with Salvador Perez, Al blanked with Whit Merrifield. At least the Royals were victorious in this one.
- In fact the American League Central was a barren wasteland for total bases on this day across the Pick One. Minnesota's Kyle Garlick (Matt) and Chicago's Andrew Vaughn (Pavli) also came up empty.
- Every Reds player is seemingly on the table with the Trade Deadline looming including Colin's selection Donovan Solano. The utility man didn't help his stock though with a blank against the Orioles.
- Whether Juan Soto stays or goes in Washington is another hot button issue but in the meantime those around him, like Scott's pick Lane Thomas, keep trying to play out the string. Thomas' double in a shutout loss to the Cardinals came in the bottom of the ninth inning, so that had to be a stressful gamecast to follow.
- After Ty France was pulled from the lineup to get an MRI, and also keeping the Pick One from having its first picked out player, Ryan ended up with Last Man In Austin Wynns. One of a rotating cast of San Francisco backup catchers drove in half of the four runs in the fourth on Sunday Night Baseball. That proved enough for a win over the Cubs.
- Two different Blue Jays players were taken from the early start against the Tigers. While he would have obviously had hoped to be in the blurb that follows, Lenny will probably take a single single bounceback from Teoscar Hernandez.
- Top score honors were split three ways over two players on the day. Matt Chapman ate cycle bread to help out both Buddy at the top of the leaderboard and provide some separation for Nate at the bottom. Ed didn't get left behind though in that relegation struggle as DJ LeMahieu himself had a meatless cycle sandwich, the third time this month he's earned the top score with that exact stat line.
- Optimally, a four-hit day from Philadelphia's Alec Bohm (2 singles, 1 double, 1 home run) earned him eight total bases and helped the Phillies to a convincing 8-2 victory over the Pirates.
