- Gaps at the top of the table narrowed while they widened at the bottom.
- After a June and July to remember for Lenny, it has been an August to forget. Mitch Haniger became the latest to blank for him going 0-for-4 in Seattle's win over the Angels.
- Times have also been hard for Ryan as he tries to claw his way out of the financial relegation zone. Miami's Garrett Cooper provided no support in his endeavor striking out in two of his three at-bats against the Padres before being pinch ran for.
- Kansas City only got five hits against Sonny Gray and the Twins. Colin's pick Salvador Perez was able to get one of them, a 7th inning single which saw him ultimately stranded at third base.
- Alex Verdugo drove in Boston's first run of the game with a single against the Pirates. However, that was all the production he would provide to Al on the day although his club was victorious.
- The American League Wild Card race got a bit tighter as the Orioles moved within half a game of Toronto for the final spot. In Pick One terms, Scott got closer to the top four with a double from the Blue Jays' Lourdes Gurriel Jr. in defeat.
- It wasn't as prolific as the first two, but Ed had his third three-hit day in four days with a trio of singles from Texas' Nate Lowe as the Rangers fell to the A's.
- Matt was able to keep pace with Buddy on the day as his selection, San Francisco's Joc Pederson, doubled against the Diamondbacks while Buddy's pick, Philadelphia's Alec Bohm, singled twice versus the Reds.
- But sandwiched in between those two was our daily silver medalist Pavli with Chicago's Nico Hoerner. He earned as much as his two surrounding competitors by using their outputs together for four total bases.
- Our daily top scorer though was Nate with Shohei Ohtani. Ohtani's fourth triple of 2022 was the difference pairing it with two singles to provide Nate a 19 total base buffer from the basement and five total bases on the day.
- Optimally, the NL East had quite a few big scores in it. Most notably were the efforts of Philadelphia's Rhys Hoskins and Miami's Nick Fortes who mirrored one another with nine total base evenings via a single and two home runs.
