- We had ourselves yet another chase day in the Pick One as only of our top two scorers for the season fell to the dreaded blank.
- Buddy and Pavli still have sizable gaps between the closest challengers, but on this day they could not extend those margins after zeroes from New York's JD Davis and Houston's Jose Altuve respectively.
- The participant closest to them at the moment is Matt. He didn't make much headway with just a single from Texas' Ezequiel Duran against the Orioles, but it is better than nothing.
- Three Mets were taken on the day, the most of any team, and other than Davis they provided valuable total bases to their backers. Mark Canha singled twice for Lenny in fourth place while a five spot from Brandon Nimmo (3 singles, 1 double) got Nate into sole possession of eighth place.
- Nimmo's production was enough to move Nate one total base clear of Ed. His selection Trea Turner kept him at that slim distance with a home run against the Giants in the late game of the evening.
- After being shut out as a division the day prior, the AL Central came good with all four of the selections from its ranks scoring. Yoan Moncada (Colin) had a single as the White Sox rep and Jorge Polanco (Al) added a double to his single for Minnesota.
- Andres Gimenez was a top scorer twice in July but he'll have to settle for a shared silver medal on this day. He tied with Nimmo on five total bases with the same stat line of three singles and a double to move Ryan within two total bases of escaping the "drop zone".
- But our day's top scorer joined his teammate in the multiple top score club. Amed Rosario ended Cleveland's extra innings win over the Diamondbacks with a pair of singles and a home run, netting Scott six total bases.
- Optimally, New York's least likely slugger Jose Trevino went yard twice for eight total bases in a Yankees victory over the Mariners.
