- It was another chase day in the Challenge as all three participants at the top of the leaderboard entering the day blanked.
- Buddy was the only one of the three that brought somebody down with them. Ed joined him in misery as Minnesota's Gary Sanchez collected zero of the Twins' five hits in their 10-1 loss to the Padres.
- St. Louis easily handled Washington by a score of 6-2, but Pavli's pick Albert Pujols did not get in on the fun against Anibal Sanchez and company.
- Rounding out the chart topping paupers was Matt with Chicago's Nico Hoerner. A top scorer earlier in the week, Hoerner only could muster a pair of walks in his four plate appearances as the Cubs bested the Giants.
- Trey Mancini didn't go back-to-back with top scores but his single against the Reds pushed Nate one total base away from escaping the financial relegation zone.
- Keeping ahead of him by that slim margin was Ryan with Alejandro Kirk. Toronto's backstop had one of the Blue Jays' four hits in their defeat to the Tigers in a start where promising ace Alek Manoah left early after being hit by a comebacker.
- Two participants have yet to be held hitless since the All-Star Break. Colin is one of them, extending that streak thanks to a single from Miami's Bryan De La Cruz against the Mets.
- We enter the Extra Base Lounge with Al's pick Jonah Heim. Texas further piled the dirt on the Angels' season with a 7-2 win which saw Heim get an RBI double in support of All-Star Martin Perez.
- After a pitcher's duel on Thursday night, the Yankees were back to their normal fireworks to end the workweek. Scott's pick Gleyber Torres singled and doubled in an 11-5 win, coming around to score as part of an eight-run eighth inning.
- That leaves our second perfect second-halfer Lenny to take home the night's top score with Pittsburgh's Kevin Newman. He would lead off the bottom of the 1st against Philadelphia with a ground-rule double and would score the game's first run shortly thereafter. He would double again and add a single to end with five total bases.
- Optimally, both Aaron Judge and Aledmys Diaz had a single and two home runs for nine total bases as both of their clubs scored 11 runs in victory.
