- We had our running shoes on as it was a good old chase day in the Pick One Challenge. However, only one of our selections was what one would call a "distance runner."
- This particular chase day came to be once our top two scorers in the game, Buddy and Pavli, both blanked with Atlanta All-Star Ronald Acuna Jr. against Philadelphia.
- From here we saw a whole bunch of singles come from the bats of our picks starting things off with Last Man In Adam Frazier. Nate got a single from Seattle's nine hole hitter in a win over the Rangers.
- Single single days also came from Colin via Albert Pujols and Matt via the returning Eloy Jimenez. Pujols' knock tied St. Louis' game with Toronto before the wheels fell off for the Cardinals. Jimenez's put him on base to score Chicago's first run in an eventual win over Colorado.
- The double single coalition consisted of a pair of AL East boppers in Tampa Bay's Randy Arozarena (Al) and Toronto's Matt Chapman (Ed). Each man had RBI's (Arozarena 1, Chapman 2) sprinkled in their statsheets.
- That leaves a three-way tie for the top score between two Second City hitters and three Pick One participants. Yasmani Grandal and Ryan represented the South Side of Chicago with a triumvirate of singles in that aforementioned White Sox win. The North Side had not only our only double selection but also our only double of the day. Nico Hoerner earned his spot on the top of the daily medal stand with a single and a double for Lenny and Scott as the Cubs doubled up the Pirates.
- Optimally, a double was all Washington's Luis Garcia would have needed to complete a cycle against the Dodgers. Instead the shortstop ended with eight total bases in a decisive win over the NL's best team record-wise.
