- Suffice to say if you weren't taking somebody from the NL East on this day, you weren't scoring.
- There were exceptions to the rule with Pavli's pick Nick Castellanos and Lenny's selection Nelson Cruz. The Phillies outfielder left a team-high four men on base in a blank, yet his club was still able to defeat the Cardinals. Cruz had a lackluster 42nd birthday as he went 0-for-4 in a loss to the Marlins.
- A sixth different Last Man In from the Giants came off the board as Joseph and Matt found themselves hitless from Austin Wynns in a shutout loss to the White Sox.
- Willson Contreras walked three times and scored twice but couldn't earn Scott any total bases as he whiffed in both of his official at-bats as his Cubs beat the Red Sox.
- New York used a four run fourth inning to eke a win out over Texas to keep pace at the top of the National League. It is funny though that neither of Pete Alonso (Ryan) or Starling Marte (Nate) recorded any of their hits on the day in that inning. Alonso would finish with two singles while Marte would have one.
- Joining Wynns in the double selection pool on the afternoon (manually) was Washington's Juan Soto. With a massive contract extension seemingly growing by the day, he got the pair of Al and Colin a double in the meantime.
- But our first top score of July went to our game leader Buddy via Atlanta's Austin Riley. He had a late lunch of cycle bread against the Reds including his 19th home run of the campaign.
- Optimally, only Al, Colin, or Matt would have been able to take advantage of Nolan Arenado's 10 total base cycle in that aforementioned loss to Philadelphia. He got the two hardest parts of the process out of the way first with a first inning single and a third inning home run. The multi-time Gold Glover doubled in the sixth before a fortuitous scoring decision helped him complete the task in the eighth.
