- Over half the field was feeling the sting of blankness on the day, but those that were able to avoid that zero pushed forward both leads and streaks.
- Like Lou learned in the NBA Pick One Challenge, relying entirely on the Last Man In has a very short shelf life. Joseph was visited by BLANK for the sixth time in June after not being eligible for either San Francisco LMI candidate.
- In this daily bubble though, not losing a pick to Cincinnati/San Francisco wasn't the worst thing. There were no total bases to be found for the pivoting pair of Al and Matt with Albert Almora Jr. and Donovan Solano. Nate was equally frustrated with San Francisco's Brandon Belt who struck out three times in defeat.
- Minnesota had their second straight pitcher's duel this time with Scott's pick Charlie Blackmon and the Colorado Rockies. The Rockies DH was unable to get any of his club's five hits in the win.
- Rounding out the productionless portion of the recap was Pavli's pick Ramon Laureano. Laureano had two instances to come through in the clutch for the A's against Kansas City but squandered both of them.
- With Lenny's streak falling the day prior, the two longest runs in the Challenge at the moment belong to Colin and Ryan. Each man plodded on with singles, Colin getting to eight straight days via Miami's Garrett Cooper while Ryan got to twelve straight with Houston's Yordan Alvarez.
- Speaking of Lenny, he got back in the saddle with the day's silver medal with a single and a double from Oakland's Seth Brown. The double was Oakland's only extra-base hit for the night against Zack Greinke and company.
- But our top score of the day went to Buddy who saw Brown's day and raised it a triple with Washington slugger Josh Bell. Bell fell a home run shy of the cycle in his eighth selection of the season to put our game leader's margin at the top back over 20 total bases.
- There was probably too much written about what happened in Oakland's box score against Kansas City while the day's optimal score came from those very Royals. Edward Olivares took A's starter Cole Irvin yard twice en route to eight total bases.
