- It was a rather subdued night offensively across the league which led to a brief drought in the Pick One.
- Buddy went back to the Pittsburgh well with Bryan Reynolds and once again the Buc stopped on blank. But unlike the day prior, misery had company as Lenny also blanked with Buddy's pick from that no-hit win, Ben Gamel.
- The Pirates the only team that Colin hasn't picked from in his mini tour around the NL Central this past week. He may have earned the top score from Paul Goldschmidt a day ago, but the rest of the teams in the division haven't been as kind including his selection on this night, Kolten Wong, who blanked against Atlanta.
- Our highest scoring game of the night was between the Giants and Rockies which ended 7-6. However, Pavli's pick Brandon Crawford couldn't get in on the action going 0-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts ending our then-silver medalist's nine day hitting streak.
- Rounding out the "sometimes maybe shit" portion of the recap was Al with Baltimore's Trey Mancini. The man who held the mantle as the highest single day scorer in the game for the majority of last season couldn't get his 2021-22 campaign off on a good note with a blank against Luis Severino and the Yankees.
- Gavin Lux and Austin Barnes are almost a collection when it comes to the Last Man In for the Pick One Challenge. Joseph became the third man to "complete the set" with a single from Lux in Los Angeles' win over the D'Backs.
- After two blanks to start the season, Hunter Renfroe got off the mark in the Challenge against the Braves. He earned Matt two total bases with a sixth inning double off Ian Anderson in which he would come around to score the game's lone run.
- A four day hitless streak came to an end for Scott as he got a pair of singles from Jorge Soler in Miami's 8-2 battering of the floundering Nationals.
- Streaking in his own right was Nate with Taylor Ward. Two singles from the Angels' leadoff man made it five straight days with at least two total bases.
- But our top score would go to the man who needs it the most, Ryan via Arizona's Ketel Marte. Marte's three total bases aren't going to set the Pick One world on fire but when you are battling financial relegation progress is progress and even more so when 9th place blanks on the day.
- Optimally, the best score of the bunch came from a very unlikely source. San Francisco backup catcher Curt Casali hit his second and third home runs of 2022 from the nine hole which along with a single put him on a daily high of nine total bases.
