- It was not a great day to be in mental congruence with someone else. Each of the three doubled up picks in the Challenge all blanked.
- However, there wasn't significant damage done on the leaderboard as all the solo picks each tied for the top spot with just a single, solitary total base.
- We'll start with the Last Man In Austin Barnes. Clayton Kershaw's personal catcher got to see the full nine innings through even after his main charge's night was through, but couldn't scratch out a hit for Matt or Ryan. This left blanks at the top and bottom of the table.
- Gio Urshela got the most bites at the apple of the bunch with five hitless plate appearances against the Rays. It had to have been frustrating for Colin and Lenny to see 14 hits on Minnesota's side of the box score and none for their selection.
- There were at least two instances of Wilmer Flores getting on base against the Nationals. Nevertheless, walks don't count so Al and Scott found themselves with blanks.
- Now onto the clusterfuck that was the tie for top score. It was the second time this season that there was more than a two-way tie for top spot and that time was also on just one total base.
- Only one man in this pile of singlers was not in the last one and that was Pavli. Our current overall silver medalist put himself here with Brandon Nimmo's base knock in a loss to the Phillies.
- Buddy pivoted from the resting Marlins shortstop Jazz Chisholm Jr. at the eleventh hour and got himself a single of his own from Chisholm's replacement in the order, Jon Berti.
- Two Red Sox teammates rounded out the proceedings with Alex Verdugo (Nate) and Xander Bogaerts (Joseph) each singling in Boston's extra innings loss to the Orioles. It was Verdugo's second time tying for top score in April.
- Optimally, George Springer hit two solo home runs to account for both of Toronto's runs, and the best total of eight total bases, in their win over his former club, Houston. Kyle Garlick also hit two home runs for Minnesota, but his team scored nine runs so his eight total bases wasn't as impressive.
