- Our first doubleheaders of the year proved as a siren call to our field with 8 of the 10 participants picking a player from one of the two sets of twin bills. However, as you'll see sometimes the draw isn't towards prosperity but rather to doom.
- We'll begin with the pair that strayed away from the lure of the doubleheader. Both Al and Ryan scored with Detroit's Robbie Grossman (1 total base) and Colorado's Kris Bryant (2 total bases) respectively.
- While nobody truly cleaned up from having two games, Buddy and Colin felt it the most as they both blanked with San Francisco's Brandon Belt. To add insult to injury, Belt's Giants were beaten in both games of the doubleheader by the Mets.
- Both on 20 total bases for the year and both selecting their respective clubs' best player, Pavli and Lenny felt the pain of the double 0-fer with Ketel Marte and Juan Soto. Lenny's double disaster was compounded by becoming the fifth participant thus far to net nil from the Home Run Hero mechanism.
- Three people made Josh Bell their selection for the day which is the daily record for the new season and pushed the Nationals first baseman past Ji-Man Choi for most selections overall for 2022. Matt, Nate, and Scott got a pair of singles over the pair of contests.
- That means taking home top score was the unlikely doubleheader champion Seth Beer. While National Beer Day may have been nearly two weeks ago, Joseph gets a little celebration of his own after the D'Backs DH strung together a pair of singles and one double against the Nats.
- Optimally, two-time reigning AL Silver Slugger catcher Salvador Perez was your best bet with a pair of home runs in Kansas City's win over the Twins.
