- The five blanks recorded on the day tied the first day of the season for the most thus far. Not a great statistic but proof that this game can be cruel in droves.
- But the good thing for the majority of the field is that three of those five blanks came from the top four players in the game thus far making this the first true chase day of the MLB season.
- Every Detroit player picked prior to today had scored. Miguel Cabrera could not grant Al and Pavli the same courtesy against Rich Hill and the Red Sox.
- Two teams with notoriously offense-friendly ballparks produced the only dueling blank on the day as Texas' Corey Seager (Scott) and Colorado's CJ Cron (Nate) couldn't make gap-finding contact.
- Our final misfire came from our game leader Lenny as he saw Byron Buxton's hot hand cool off real quick with an 0-for-5 with 3 strikeouts against the Dodgers. He was able to keep his overall lead though despite the blank.
- Arizona had the only duo selected in the second to last game on the docket. Each pick produced as Matt's selection Daulton Varsho singled and Joseph's pivot pick David Peralta doubled in defeat to the Astros.
- We had our first successful Last Man In of the season with San Francisco's Joey Bart. Ryan originally went with Nelson Cruz but with the DH sitting against Atlanta the onus fell to the Giants ninth place hitter Bart who hit a pair of singles in the Giants' battering of the Padres.
- Buddy put himself into a tie for third place with three total bases from Andrew McCutchen, his second consecutive selection from the NL Central favorite Brewers.
- That leaves the top score of the day in the possession of Colin via Cleveland's Owen Miller. More than just a Mark Reynolds lookalike, the Guardians first baseman raised his batting average to a cool .500 against Cincinnati with a pair of doubles.
- Optimally, Marcell Ozuna was the first person to hit double digits in total bases on the young season with a ten spot against the Nationals including a double and two home runs.
