- The penultimate day of the regular season, barring a Wild Card tiebreaker, saw the pickouts continue but the scoring dry up.
- All top four scorers all blanked on the day. Pavli made it 2-for-2 with October pick out blanks as Trevor Story couldn't write a memorable final chapter against the Diamondbacks. Rookies Keibert Ruiz and Jarred Kelenic potentially ended their first Pick One campaigns on a sour note for Matt and Trevor respectively. Al's pick, Corey Dickerson, didn't even make a pinch hit appearance against the Orioles.
- Ruiz wasn't the only National with a four letter surname that thudded onto the pointless concrete against the Red Sox. Ryan's pick, Juan Soto, drove in the game-tying run in the eighth inning with a sac fly but was otherwise inept. Only Greg has Soto left for the final day if he so chooses.
- Speaking of Greg, he was one of the two pick out success stories to come out of the dreary Game 161 Saturday. There was a long drive from Castellanos to net him four points which tied him for top score. The Reds now have the most picked out players in the regular season with three (Votto, Winker).
- By process of elimination you can probably tell that he shared that distinction with Colin. Ketel Marte hit a pair of doubles against the Rockies to draw level with Castellanos' dinger and keep the longest current Pick One streak intact with four in a row.
- Ending on one final piece of "four" business, Castellanos became the second person to earn top score four times this season, tying him with Colorado's Brendan Rodgers. Three people (Colin, Pavli, Ryan) have Rodgers left if they are feeling froggy and want to break the tie.
