- The winter World Cup's changes to domestic league schedules made its first impact in England with midweek matches in August. This also coincided with our first chase day in the Premier League Pick One as both of the lowest scores for the day came from our top two players thus far.
- It wasn't all bad for Leeds against Everton securing a draw after going down in the 17th minute. However, that goal came from the newest member of Jesse Marsch's front three Luis Sinisterra and not Pavli's pick Rodrigo or Trevor's selection Jack Harrison. Rodrigo exited with a shoulder injury 32 minutes in leaving Pavli with a hard luck 6.1 rating. Trevor had to endure 90 minutes of Jack Harrison having trouble keeping the ball (44 lost possessions) and having even more trouble getting it back (5 of 20 ground duels won) to end on a 6.3 from some very friendly late aggregators.
- Brighton had one starting forward and one reserve one taken in their 2-1 loss to Fulham. Andrew's Pascal Groß could not make it three straight matches with a goal involvement against the Cottagers. He was caught offsides more than he made attacking passes en route to a 6.9 (ni.ce) rating. For Mike's pick Danny Welbeck, he was only fit enough for the bench in a midweek affair. He stayed on the standard 6.5 after his setup of Deniz Undav late was bricked horribly.
- Our only selection from Crystal Palace/Brentford was Scott's selection Wilfried Zaha. The Palace winger may have scored his side's only goal of the game with a lovely finessed finish to the far corner over the outstretched hand of David Raya. However, he was relatively contained by Brentford's defense the remainder of the contest for just a 6.9 (ni.ce) rating.
- But our joint top scorers of the day both came from Leeds/Everton, one on each side. Ryan's pick, American Brenden Aaronson, set up Sinisterra's aforementioned goal to earn his share of the day's top spoils and a 7.2 rating. McNeil's work was much more on the defensive end of things, winning 12 of 18 ground duels, making three interceptions, and providing eight tackles for Matt's 7.2 earnings.
- Optimally, Fulham's Aleksandar Mitrovic scored his fifth goal of the season to help his side best Brighton & Hove Albion and net a 8.0 rating.
