ROBERT ALLEN- 225.1 TOTAL SCORE DAILY SELECTIONS: Aleksandar Mitrovic, SRB (7.0) / Mohammed Kudus, GHA (8.2) / Casemiro, BRA (7.8) / Darwin Nunez, URU (6.5) The rich got richer as the second matchday of Groups G & H came to a close. Robert hit on goalscorers in each of the first three matches of the day before whiffing on Darwin Nunez against Portugal. Mitrovic could have made it so much more had he not hit the bar as well as slicing one effort millimeters wide. Kudus sent Ghana into jubilation mode with his first half header before crushing South Korea's dreams with a goal after Gue-sung Cho's quick brace. Casemiro provided the point at the end of a beautiful passing triangle to hopefully keep us from having to see Switzerland play in the next round.
TREVOR UTLEY- 222.1 TOTAL SCORE DAILY SELECTIONS: Filip Kostic, SRB (6.7) / Heung-min Son, KOR (6.4) / Vinicius Jr., BRA (6.6) / Bruno Fernandes, POR (8.8) Keep your friends close but keep your enemies closer. After rampant mediocrity from his selections over the first three matches, Trevor got the best score of the tournament to date from one of his most loathed players, Portugal's Bruno Fernandes. He scored twice to put Uruguay on the brink of elimination with more shots on target than the other three picks in this pool combined. Vinicius could have had more had his well-taken goal not been ruled out by VAR for a Richarlison offside infraction in the build-up.
SCOTT SERVIDIO- 221.5 TOTAL SCORE DAILY SELECTIONS: Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, SRB (7.9) / Jordan Ayew, GHA (6.9) / Vinicius Jr., BRA (6.6) / Bernardo Silva, POR (6.6) While Trevor had to wait until late on to get his production, Scott got his before the sun even rose. The outfield playing of the Milinkovic-Savic clan scored his nation's second in the 3-3 thriller with Cameroon and had numerous chances for a second himself or for one of his teammates that just never came to be. He also picked the best-producing brother on Ghana with Jordan Ayew who got an assist in the 3-2 win over South Korea. Vinicius' aforementioned chalked off goal put him level unfortunately with the under-performing Bernardo Silva.
LENNY MALAGRINO- 220.9 TOTAL SCORE DAILY SELECTIONS: Georges-Kevin N'Koudou, CAM (6.6) / Andre Ayew, GHA (6.4) / Richarlison, BRA (6.6) / Joao Felix, POR (6.6) For the second straight day, Lenny could not find a single player to score him over 7.0 on the rating scale. Last Man In Georges-Kevin N'Koudou probably gets a pass in the early kickoff but the others were damning. The older Ayew had more of the ball than his brother and did significantly less with it. After a brilliant opener to the tournament, Richarlison reverted back to Spurs Richarlison against Switzerland. The same went for Joao Felix who went from dynamic offensive talent against Ghana to Cristiano Ronaldo's personal ballboy versus the Uruguayans.
MARTIN DUNNING- 220.9 TOTAL SCORE DAILY SELECTIONS: Georges-Kevin N'Koudou, CAM (6.6) / Thomas Partey, GHA (7.3) / Casemiro, BRA (7.8) / Rodrigo Bentancur, URU (7.0) Our second Last Man In recipient of the Cameroon/Serbia match had that as his only real misstep of the day. From that point on, Martin had a stellar showing from Thomas Partey as dirty as that sounds to type. He too backed Casemiro who has seemingly become a regular goal scorer for the Brazilians. Uruguay may be quietly going into that gentle night of elimination after a 2-0 loss to Portugal, but any blame laid at the feet of Spurs' Rodrigo Bentancur is completely and utterly misplaced.
ANDREW SANFORD- 219.1 TOTAL SCORE DAILY SELECTIONS: Georges-Kevin N'Koudou, CAM (6.6) / Jordan Ayew, GHA (6.9) / Granit Xhaka, SUI (6.9) / Federico Valverde, URU (7.2) The struggle bus chugged along for Andrew even though his picks got better as the day progressed. He was the only backer of a Swiss player. He lucked out with Granit Xhaka being their second highest-rated player as his side played quite possibly the least ambitious game of the tournament to date. Federico Valverde joined Bentancur in Frustrationville as none of their industry was met with any end product by those in the firing lines for La Celeste.
