- The meat of the midweek fixture sandwich had six matches yet only three of them saw usage from our participants.
- Despite getting pumped 4-1 in the Merseyside Derby, Everton was the most popular side on this day with three selections (one being Greg's perpetual LMI). Andrew and Matt inadvertently helped one another out in this one as their selections combined for Everton's only goal against Liverpool with Andrew's man Richarlison (7.1) setting up Matt's charge Demarai Gray (7.0) with a lifeline just before halftime. A yellow card for diving pulled Gray back behind the man who set him up for the strike.
- Among the six matches there were three draws with the most goal-riddled one being Southampton's Desmond 2-2 special against Leicester City. Ryan's pick Adam Armstrong didn't contribute to any of the Saints' two goals, but was key in hold up play and even made a very timely tackle to stop a break earning a 7.1.
- Continuing his exceptional form in the above mentioned draw was Scott's pick James Maddison. He didn't quite go nuclear like he did against Watford though he did score and complete both of his significant dribbles to earn a share of top score with a 7.5 rating.
- Unluckily for Scott, the man he tied for top score with was the man he's chasing in the standings, Trevor, who got his 7.5 from Wolves' goalkeeper Jose Sa. The Portuguese shot stopper wasn't particularly troubled against Burnley which made him keeping a clean sheet fairly academic.
- Optimally, it was one of Sa's countrymen who took home the day's best score. Diogo Jota continued to get himself in the form necessary to shoulder the burden of a Mo Salah & Sadio Mane-less Liverpool once the African Cup of Nations begins with his fourth goal in three games and a final rating of 8.3.
