- There were three matches to choose from for our participants. Each one had at least one selection but only from one team in each matchup.
- Pavli was our early riser of the day with Manchester City's Bernardo Silva. The trouble for Manchester City in the Pick One is that they can almost be too good sometimes. Despite assisting on Erling Haaland's goal, Silva was relatively invisible for the remainder of his time on the pitch against Wolves with a good chunk of his 51 completed passes going no further than the length of my desk to finish on a 6.7.
- Many thought Newcastle were going to run Bournemouth off the pitch with three attacking options being picked against the Cherries. Scott got the lowest of the bunch with a 6.9 (ni.ce) from Bruno Guimaraes. Mike did one tenth better (7.0 for clarity) with winger Ryan Fraser. But Matt got a much-needed 7.6 from the Magpies' goal scorer Alexander Isak who slotted home from the penalty spot to go level after a shock early goal from the visitors.
- The sad underbelly in the Pick One from Newcastle was the 6.5 that Andrew got from goalkeeper Nick Pope. It was his lowest rated league game thus far and that includes his time-wasting shenanigans against Liverpool.
- Spurs also went behind early against Leicester, but boy did that tide turn fucking quick. Tottenham put six past the Foxes in powerful fashion. Unfortunately for Trevor none of them came from Richarlison (more on that in a second) who was subbed off on a 6.5 in the 59th minute.
- One of them did come from the day's top scorer though, Harry Kane. Ryan's pick would also assist on his side's fifth goal of the afternoon to push him up past Isak to a 7.7 on the daily scoreboard.
- And that aforementioned assist went to our optimal player of the day, and the man Richarlison was subbed off for, Heung-min Son. Many were disappointed to see the struggling South Korean benched against the leaky Leicester defense only to have that sorrow turn to elation as Sonny put on a goal scoring clinic in his just over a half hour on the pitch. A hat trick is one hell of a slump buster and put one of last season's standouts on a 9.3 off the pine.
