- A new proper gameweek in the Premier League kicked off on Friday Night Football as Aston Villa heaped even more pressure on embattled Leeds manager Jesse Marsch with a 2-1 win.
- Only Matt and Ryan utilized the Last Man In for the match and for the first time in a while the provision had to go to the second step. Matt drew the short straw on the first with Leeds' Junior Firpo (6.4) and Ryan fared a bit better with Villa's Morgan Sanson (6.7) to put Matt back in the financial relegation zone by 0.1 ratings points.
- Mike was able to stay just ahead of the duo despite a rough go of it for American Brenden Aaronson. The Leeds midfielder got bullied in the middle of the park, unable to complete a single attacking dribble en route to a 5.9 rating.
- A bit of forgetfulness forced Trevor to a second half sub decision and he was hard done by the order of operations. New signing Maximilian Wober's introduction just ahead of goal scorer Patrick Bamford doomed him to a 6.6 on the afternoon.
- Ashley Young turned back the clock against Leeds with some great link up play with the midfield as well as tracking back. Andrew saw his selection earn his 7.3 rating throughout but no moment was bigger than when Young perfectly timed a goal-saving tackle against Pavli's pick Tyler Adams (7.2) in the 69th (niceth) minute.
- But taking home top score on the day, with the optimal effort no less, was Scott with Douglas Luiz. The Aston Villa man now has scores in the 5's, 6's, and 7's this season after a 7.7 against Leeds on the back of masterful defensive work including five tackles, four interceptions, and a 10/18 overall duels record in midfield.
